Goldie

Now Retired

After having three beautiful litters of labrador puppies with us and four overall for her we made the decision to retire Miss Goldie and let her live her life as a regular pampered pet! She was spayed at the beginning of December 2023 and has recovered great! For now, our plan is to continue to keep Goldie as our pet and let her live her days out her. However, we do also get requests for older dogs from time to time and would consider letting her go to the right home. She is a very special dog to us so we would definitely be very selective on a potential new home for her. The same purchase agreement would apply to her that applies to our puppies. If we were to place her with a new family and they didn’t feel it was a good fit, we would require her to be returned to us. Goldie is both a very active dog and a great cuddle dog! A great match for her would be someone that would like a running/walking companion and then a dog to cozy up with them on the couch later on! She loves fetch and active time. She will not do good being in a kennel for prolonged periods of time. If you’d like to learn more about her feel free to get in touch!

Meet Goldie

After the joy of raising our first litter of puppies, we decided to add another female to our family at some point. We came across a post of someone rehoming Goldie. We were in love based on the pictures! She looked just like our Jackie! We arranged to meet her, and it was an instant connection. She had such a great temperament. We knew she would be a great addition to our family. We got her home and her and the other three dogs had a great time getting to know each other. She is a great family dog and fits in perfectly with us! We are so happy to have her and look forward to giving her the forever home that she deserves.

*Update! Since Goldie’s time with us we have learned she is a very high energy dog! She is always on the move! Unfortunately, a large part of that is because she came to us with a condition called, Laser Point Syndrome. It is classified as an OCD/Anxiety disorder. Use of laser pointers are extremely frustrating to dogs because they can never catch/retrieve the light. Goldie has the most trouble on bright sunny days when everything is shiny, and the sun reflects on many things. She runs around trying to catch the light. It keeps her busy and she doesn't seem bothered by it, but it makes me sad to see the trance she goes into over it. Once she gets fixated on the light it is hard to break her attention. We have been working with her to some success to turn her attention to a physical item to retrieve instead. We have many balls around for games of fetch! Goldie and Jackie have turned fetch into a competitive game! They love to compete to be the first to get the ball and bring it back. This has greatly help Goldie but has not cured her. Unfortunately, I don’t think anything will. We have just learned to accept that she will be driven by the light and try our best to shield her from it when possible. She is otherwise a great dog, and we love having her with us! She loves car rides! It doesn't matter where too she always wants to jump in! She loves to cozy up next to us when we sit on the couch. She has also been a great mom to her puppies and to Jackie’s! She is very loving and nurturing! She has been a great addition to our family!
